Easy Pizza Dough Recipe

Easy pizza dough

Last week, Roshymun posted Take a Moment To Live Smarter. This post is an addition to that. Since self-isolation, like so many of you, I have been cooking up a storm.

In this blog, I will share one of my tried and tested absolute favorite recipes. It is from an old edition of the Delicious magazine.

This recipe is perfect for soothing your frazzled nerves because it involves making dough. And it will also delight you and your loved ones because the quality of this dough is so elastic it produces the most scrumptious pizza bases. Of course, the addition of toppings you love, copious amounts of cheese, and the last splash of olive oil, elevates it to a whole different level.

I have got nothing but praise each time I have made it and I hope you love it as much as I do.

Pizza dough recipe here:

Basic pizza dough

◦ 1 tbsp dry yeast
◦ 1 tsp caster sugar
◦ 1 cup (250ml) lukewarm water
◦ 2.5 cups (375ml) 000 flour or pizza/bread flour
◦ 1 tsp salt
◦ 1 tbsp olive oil

Combine yeast, sugar, and water in the bowl, mix and leave in a warm spot for 5 minutes or until bubbles appear (this means the yeast has activated).

While that’s happening, combine flour, salt, and olive oil in a large bowl and make a well in the center.

Add the yeast mixture and mix with well-floured hands for 4 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Divide the dough into equal-sized balls and place it on a tray and cover with a damp clean tea towel. Keep in a warm place until the balls have at least doubled in size ( takes about 30 minutes).

Roll out to the desired size and top it up.

Who needs Dominos or Pizza Hut! The best way to enjoy your pizza is to go authentic by making your own dough and cooking them in a wood-fired pizza oven. This self-isolation period is the perfect time to try it out. Check out our tips here for a special night in with the family the fun and easy way.
